After I published my Halloween Search Games printable last month, I had some requests to offer a Thanksgiving Search Games printable as well. Today I am fulfilling that request!
Search games have been a big hit at our house lately. Both of my kids beg me to play search games with them when I put them on our shelves.
You might be asking: What are search games? Search games, as we play them, are a fun hide-and-seek game that allows kids to practice skills such as letters, numbers, shapes, colors, sight words, math facts, and much more.
Note: For more Thanksgiving printables your kids will love, see my Thanksgiving Activities for Kids page.
Here is a look at the four different Thanksgiving Search Games included in the download.
I printed the pilgrim version for my son to practice his sight words. I wrote the sight words he is currently learning on at the bottom of the pilgrim cards.
While he wasn’t looking, I placed the pilgrim cards face up on the table. I hid the turkey card underneath one of the pilgrim cards.
QBoy would read one of the words on the cards, and then turn that card over to see if the turkey was hidden underneath.
And when the turkey was found, we did a little celebratory whoop.
On this particular day, we took turns hiding the turkey and trying to find it under the words.
The best part about these Thanksgiving Search Games is that you can customize them to whatever skill your child needs to practice, such as:
- letters
- numbers
- sight words
- shapes
- colors
- math facts
- anything else you can think of!
How will you use the Thanksgiving Search Games to help your children learn?

These are adorable! I plan to use these with my tutoring students who are practicing multiplication. I’ll have one set and the student will have the other. (Pilgrims and Indians) We’ll print quotients on the cards and put our turkey under one card. We’ll take turns rolling dice and multiplying the numbers together. If the number matches one of the numbers on our card we’ll get to turn it over. Whoever find their turkey first wins!
