Valentine Printables Pack with more than 70 Valentine activities for kids!

Are you looking forward to the upcoming Valentine’s Day holiday? 

Before kids, I mostly thought of Valentine’s Day as a romantic holiday. But since having kids, I have re-discovered the joy of celebrating Valentine’s Day for its message of kindness, friendship, and appreciating love in all its various forms.

To celebrate the kind of pure and sweet love that children have for others, I’m releasing my Valentine Printables Pack.

This is the largest and most comprehensive of my Valentine’s Day printables to date. I hope you enjoy!

My Valentine Printables Pack contains 77 Valentine’s Day printables with activities for kids ages 2 to 7. The activities in this pack cover a range of skills, including:

• shapes and sizes
• colors
• same vs. different
• patterning
• puzzles
• fine motor
• mazes
• math (number identification, counting, addition, subtraction)
• literacy (letter identification, alphabetical order, phonemic awareness, word searches)

Many of the activities have multiple versions so you can tailor the activity to your children’s developmental level(s).

Valentine Printables Pack in action

My kids have already been enjoying many of the activities in this pack.

The first activity that caught both kids’ eyes was a coloring activity. They had to color each object according to the color indicated in the key at the top.

They did this work on their collapsible folding lap desks. (I really *love* these desks because they store out of the way when not in use, but can be easily brought out and set up when we need more desk space!)

XGirl has learned the basic shapes like circles and squares, although she is still learning some of the more advanced shapes like trapezoid and pentagon.

I knew that simply asking her to match shapes would not keep her engaged. So I prepared the shapes matching activity from the Valentine Printable Pack by first hiding all of the purple shapes in the kitchen. I then met with her in another room and handed her one of the pink shapes. I had her name the shape and describe it to me. Then I sent her off to the kitchen to find the shape and bring it back.

As she brought each shape back, she automatically went to work matching them up. She LOVED the treasure hunt aspect of this activity!

Later we took out our much loved  Crayola Dry Erase Activity Centers to do some of the worksheets. I like to put worksheets into the Crayola Dry Erase Activity Centers so that I can re-use them. This is useful when both kids want to do the same worksheet (allowing me to print out only one copy) or when one kid wants to do the same worksheet multiple times.

XGirl is learning her letters, and she enjoyed finding all of the capital letter H’s on this H is for Heart worksheet.

She also got in some fine motor practice. Usually she just races through these worksheets – and the quality of her writing shows! I encouraged her to really slow down and work carefully on this day, and she did a much better job staying within the lines.

QBoy loves cupcakes and he has been very interested in alphabetic order lately.  So this Connect the Dots by Letter activity was right up his alley! When he finished, he colored the frosting in and invited all of us to take a bite. 🙂

XGirl practiced her graphing skills using the Valentine’s Treat Graphing activity that is part of the pack. I put out the graphing sheet, assembled the included dice, and added some red gems for marking which items had been rolled. She had so much fun with this. She was very excited to let me know when the cupcake “won” by being the first column to get filled up. I was really pleased to see how well she understands the concept of graphing now and how easy this was for her to do.

QBoy can now count to 20 and his ability to recognize numbers 11 through 20 is emerging. I gave him this Cupid puzzle to do for some extra practice with those numbers. He was more interested in Cupid than the numbers, and had lots and lots of questions about who Cupid is, why Cupid carries an arrow, whether Cupid is real, etc. 🙂

XGirl continues to make a lot of progress on identifying the first sounds of words. On this worksheet, she had to sort words based on whether they started with the \h\ sound or the \c\ sound.
