This paper plate reindeer craft was entirely QBoy’s idea, and I can’t take any of the credit for it. I don’t know where he got the idea came from, but he conceptualized this reindeer craft, made me fetch the materials he had in mind, and instructed me and his sister on how to do it. I was so proud of his creativity, planning, and ability to execute.
Indeed, this paper plate reindeer craft came out so cute that I just had to share it here with you!

The very first step was to paint the back of a paper plate brown.
Once the paper plates were dry, QBoy instructed me to gather the following materials:
- 2 brown pipe cleaners
- 2 googly eyes
- 1 red pom pom
- 1 craft stick
- Marker (for drawing the mouth)
- Glue
- I later added a stapler, which was a more effective way of attaching the pipe cleaners than using glue
QBoy carefully created a face with his materials, including antlers on top of the head.
In the end, he and XGirl both added a craft stick to the bottom in order to make them into puppets. (Regular glue did not hold the craft stick on very well, so I would recommend something stronger like using a hot glue gun if your kids want to create puppets with these.)
I thought this paper plate reindeer craft was adorable. QBoy was very proud of his creation, and XGirl had a blast doing this as well. I hope my kids enjoy making Christmas crafts for many years to come!
