I am so excited to announce the release of my Ocean Animals Montessori Book and Ocean Animals 3-Part Cards!
Last summer I did an ocean unit with my kids.
As part of that unit, we studied ocean animals.
In planning that unit, I looked for kid-friendly resources about ocean animals to use with my kids. But because I was not able to find what I wanted, I ended up creating my own ocean animal resources.
At the time, I wasn’t ready to share those resources with others. But I recently spent some time to spruce them up and make them appropriate for distribution.
And today I’m so excited to announce that I have created a set of beautiful Ocean Animals 3-Part Cards and an Ocean Animals Book to share with my readers!
Note: For activities and printables related to the ocean, please see my ocean unit study page.
Both the Ocean Animals 3-Part Cards and the Ocean Animals Book feature 20 different ocean animals:
- Clam
- Crab
- Dolphin
- Eagle ray
- Hammerhead shark
- Humpback whale
- Jellyfish
- Lobster
- Moray eel
- Octopus
- Orca
- Penguin
- Sea anemone
- Sea horse
- Sea lion
- Sea star
- Sea turtle
- Sperm whale
- Squid
- Tiger shark
If you are using the Safari Ltd Ocean TOOB, you’ll be pleased to know that all of the animals from that TOOB are included, as are most of the animals in the Under The Sea! set from Fun Express.
Ocean Animals 3-Part Cards
3-part cards are wonderful for learning the names of ocean animals. Kids can use these cards to match figurines to the pictures, match the pictures to each other, play memory games, and more!
You can see a few photos of my kids using our ocean 3-part cards in this post.
And here is a sneak peak at the Ocean Animals 3-Part Cards:
Ocean Animals Book
When we did our ocean unit, my kids had so many questions about the various animals. I was looking for a very simple, kid-friendly resource covering the basic details about each animal. Not finding what I wanted, I ultimately decided to create this Ocean Animals Book.
To give you a sense of what is in the book, here is a sneak peak at three pages from my Ocean Animals Book:
I know how time consuming it can be to print resources from online and then assemble them, so the book is designed to be very easy to put together, with virtually no cutting involved.
I hope your children will enjoy these resources, as I created them specifically for helping young kids learn to identify and appreciate the wonderful animals of our oceans.
