The 4th of July Independence Day holiday is the quintessential American holiday. This holiday celebrates America’s declaration of independence from Britain in 1776. (Although American did not officially gain independence until the Treat of Paris was signed in 1783.)
Typical American 4th of July celebrations include parades, fireworks, barbecues, picnics, and family reunions. On July 4th, Americans of all ages dress in red, white, and blue to show their love for the United States.
