A few years ago I published a set of Road Letters printables that has been insanely popular. In fact, it quickly became one of the most popular downloads on my site.

I figured if kids enjoy driving cars on road letters, they would have just as much fun driving cars on road numbers, and they could learn how to write numbers at the same time.

So I’m pleased to announce that I have created a printable Road Numbers set for your kids to enjoy and learn with. If you have a child that loves cars, this is a great way to capitalize on that love to help your child learn his or her numbers.

Note: See my math activities for kids page for more hands-on activities that teach numbers and counting.

Using my Road Numbers printable is easy. Simply print out the numbers your child is working on, and then have your child drive his or her toy cars on the numbers to learn their shape.

I recommend encouraging your child to drive their cars in the same direction as we teach them to write the numbers.

My daughter has a tendency to write her 6’s from the bottom up (rather than from the top down). She happily drove her homemade LEGO car (driven by a stormtrooper!) on the 6 I printed for her, and in the process got some practice forming her 6’s the correct way.

The download includes two different colors of road letters: a version with colored backgrounds and a version with white backgrounds. Download them both and then print the version that works best for you!
