Winter has hit us hard this year, with lots of cold, rainy days that keep the kids and I mostly indoors. Being indoors so much is hard though, as the kids start to go stir crazy when they don’t get enough physical play.
To help out, I created this free printable Winter Gross Motor Movement Game you can use to get kids moving when you are stuck indoors. Don’t be surprised to hear a lot of laughter as kids try to do these silly moves!
This is a perfect little activity to use on winter days when it is too cold, too wet, or too snowy to get outside. Play this game whenever the kids need a movement break.
Note: For more winter printables and activities, see my Winter Activities for Kids page.
To play, simply print the Winter Gross Motor Movement Game cards and cut them out. Place one card into each of the six pockets on a differentiated instruction cube. Then have your children take turns rolling the cube and performing the indicated action.
This is a great way to provide kids with a fun movement break during the day.
Don’t have a differentiated instruction cube? You can also shuffle the cards and have kids draw one from a pile.
