This download includes a total of 6 pages focused on three different rules for adding the -ing suffix to verbs.
Rule #1: For many verbs, we simply add -ing to the end of the word.
Rule #2: For verbs that end with the letter ‘e’ (except verbs ending in -ee or -ie), drop the ‘e’ and add -ing.
Rule #3: For single syllable consonant-vowel-consonant verbs, double the last consonant and add -ing.
There are two different types of worksheets for each of the three rules to give children plenty of practice adding the -ing suffix.
