It has been a long time since I’ve created a Sudoku game to share with my readers. But with the end of summer vacation approaching, I thought it would be a good time to celebrate the summer staple of ice cream with an Ice Cream Sudoku Printable.
Sudoku is a great way to exercise one’s brain with fun, engaging, puzzles that stimulate critical thinking and cognitive skills. I hope your kids will enjoy my Ice Cream Sudoku puzzles while they give their brains a workout.
Note: For more kid-friendly printables, see my educational printables page.
I used to be a total Sudoku fanatic, although I don’t have much time to play anymore. The goal of Sudoku is to fill in a 9×9 grid such that each row, column, and 3×3 sub-grid includes one and only one of each digit from 1 to 9. Depending on the number of blank spots in the Sudoku puzzle, the difficulty can range from quite easy to extremely challenging.
In the Ice Cream Sudoku Puzzle I am sharing today, I have made the game kid-friendly by adapting it to use pictures instead of numbers. Plus, I have shrunk the playing board to a 4×4 grid in order to make it appropriate for young children.
Here is a sneak peak at the three Ice Cream Sudoku games included in the download:

Thank you so much for your printables. I use them when I know the grandkids are coming over. As a former K/1 teacher, I also appreciate your work and kindness for sharing them.
Thanks so much! I always appreciate hearing from former teachers how they can use my materials. Enjoy your time with your grandkids!
These are so cute.
