I’m thrilled to be able to share another one of my Christmas printables today. This time I’m trying something very new, and I have created some Christmas play dough mats. Children really benefit from using play dough. It provides a wonderful sensory play experience that kids enjoy, and working with play dough strengthens those all important fine motor skills that will be crucial for writing later on.
Whenever my kids use play dough, I generally provide them with some tools to enhance the experience. These tools might include cookie cutters, play dough scissors, or cupcake liners. Recently, however, I let them enjoy play dough with my Christmas play dough mats. It was fun to see how they interacted with this new play dough tool.
Note: For more Christmas activities and printables, see my Christmas Activities for Kids page.

To use these Christmas play dough mats, first print them out. Then you will want to laminate them. (We own and love this wonderful Scotch laminator that can often be found for a very reasonable price). If you don’t have a laminator, you could also put them in plastic sheet protectors.
My kids had fun putting eyes on the gingerbread man. Okay, so they actually said they were putting on eye patches, because they wanted him to be a pirate gingerbread man. 🙂 They also added snow to the houses and ornaments to the Christmas tree.
For my kids, I printed out the play dough mats that included color. However, my pack includes both color and black line mats so you can choose whatever you think your children will enjoy most.
