“When you’re curious, you find lots of interesting things to do.”

– Walt Disney

Through my professional and personal experiences I have come to believe that a primary goal of education should be to develop and nurture children’s innate curiosity and desire to learn about the world around them.

This conviction inspired me to have 3 goals for Gift of Curiosity:

  1. To provide hands-on, developmentally appropriate educational ideas and tools for a comprehensive learning experience that includes language, math, science, art, music, movement, and more.
  2. To make it easy for parents, teachers, and caregivers to engage children through a range of fun learning activities.
  3. To make learning a playful experience that develops children’s curiosity!

I am a retired teacher who works part time for a provider of behavior therapy.
With many of my clients I feel that a floortime approach is the best use of time, and I think that
many of your ideas will be very useful to me in my work with children with autism spectrum
disorders and cognitive delays. Thank you!

Thanks Susan! I can’t say that I have much experience with kids on the spectrum, although both of my kids had developmental delays when they were younger. Getting on the floor and playing with them was one of the best ways I found to connect with and engage them. Best of luck to you in your work!
