Perhaps the most famous symbol of the Thanksgiving holiday is the turkey.
Today I’m releasing my Turkey Drawing Pages to give your kids an opportunity to draw their own turkeys (with a bit of support).
This set was previously available as part of my Thanksgiving Printables Bundle, but is now available to download as a standalone product.
My Turkey Drawing Pages blend both art (drawing) and math (finding coordinates on a grid), making them an awesome Thanksgiving STEAM project.
These drawing pages are designed for the budding artist. By overlaying a grid on top of the example image, kids can use the grid lines to help them figure out the right proportions for making their own drawing.
Note: For more Thanksgiving printables your kids will love, see my Thanksgiving Activities for Kids page.
This printable includes two different Thanksgiving turkeys for your children to draw.
Each page includes an image imposed on a grid on the left side, and a blank grid for your child to draw a copy of the image on the right side.
This is an art activity, of course. But it’s also a math activity, as children have to find basic (unlabeled) coordinates on the grid in order to draw an accurate representation of the image.
Below is what a completed page might look like:
