I am very excited to begin blogging here at Gift of Curiosity! There is so much I anticipate sharing with my readers.
As a mom, I hope to share some of the many fun and educational activities I do at home with my two kids. Things I love include sensory activities, art projects, and science. I also love coming up with fun, hands-on ways to teach early literacy and early math concepts. And while I don’t particularly love cleaning, I do enjoy giving my kids the chance to get messy from time to time. 🙂
As an educator and researcher, I hope to share best practices grounded in both my experience and in the research. In future posts, I hope to address topics such as language development, the foundations needed for successfully learning to read and do arithmetic, children’s need to explore through their senses, and the importance of play for children’s development.
And as a lifelong learner, I am always eager to learn new and better ways to stimulate my children’s learning and curiosity. I hope to use this blog as a platform for connecting with others to provide mutual support in our quest to follow our children’s naturally curious natures and support their love of learning.
