Ooh, thanks for the recommendations! I also love Gail Gibbons’s books, but wasn’t aware she had written one on pirates. I’ll have to check it out!

So funny! Pirate Pete is searching for pirates to join his crew. Above all the qualities he is looking for, they must “talk like a pirate”. There are at least 2 other books in the series about Pirate Pete. Another good nonfiction book about pirates is “Pirates: Robbers of the High Seas” by Gail Gibbons. I love all books by Gail Gibbons. Good illustrations, just enough information for the kids to learn without it being boring or going over their heads.
