The next installment in my 101 Ways to Teach the Alphabet Series is called Drive the Car on the Road Letters, and it is perfect for kids who love toy cars.
You’ve probably met – or maybe even parented! – a child who adores toy cars and takes them everywhere. You have probably seen a kid who makes “vroom” sounds all day while driving a toy car around. Well, this activity is for that child. And it’s a sneaky way to use the child’s love of cars to help him or her learn the alphabet.
I have created a set of printable road letters. Simply print out the letters your child is working on, and then have your child drive his or her toy cars on the letters to learn their shape.
I recommend encouraging your child to drive their cars in the same direction as we teach them to write the letters.
The printable includes both uppercase and lowercase road letters.
The download includes two different colors of road letters: a version with colored backgrounds and a version with white backgrounds. So choose the version that works best for you!
Update: I’ve since created printable Road Numbers as well!
